Missy has passed away

About 3 weeks ago I lost Missy to her breathing illness. I miss her very much. Now it is just me, Dtzy Mae and Smash.

Day One Vacation

Hung out mostly with the gang, Dtzy had periods of barking, overall she was pretty good. We got in our walk around 7pm, visited Steve and Patty and Fauzee. Debbie and her gang stopped by at Steve’s, Dtzy kept barking at them off and on. Missy mostly rode the bag, she was very content to be in the bag on my shoulder the whole time at Steve and Patty’s. Sometimes I completely forget I have her on my shoulder in the bag.

Visited with Carl and Rosemary, Carl especially loves Dtzy.

They are very quiet now, Dtzy is sleeping, peace and quiet for a change.

Cookie is the most loving dog I have ever met. She loves to kiss humans and play with other dogs. (No matter how big they are) She is originally from Florida, she was abandoned down there, and thru a family member, we ended up with her (all the way in NY). She loves the snow – she makes like an ostrich and sticks her head in it. Yet in the summer she’ll lounge out on the deck and soak in the rays. She was named after the famous Oreo Cookie. Cookie loves to go for Walks and Rides. She can’t get any more excited when you pick up her leash. You don’t even have to say anything, she knows she is going somewhere. She sits, shakes hands, lays down, plays tug-of-war, smiles and “talks”. You can get her to sound like Chewbacca from Star Wars. It’s hysterical. She is a snuggler too. She weighs about 57 pounds and when she rolls up in a ball to take a nap, she looks so tiny… you wouldn’t think she weighed that much. Her spots are not that dark. We are not sure of her mix (since she was abandoned)… however she has one blue eye and one brown eye, the body figure of a Dalmation and the spots. We know her dominant trait is Dalmation. We have one across the street from us and when they are side by side they are identical (except Cookie looks inside out). Our neighbors and family just love her. The kids in the neighborhood come over in our yard to play with her. She’s a great dog, and deserves the recognition for a day!

I saw and read about this dog on the internet.

It is amazing how much this dog’s personality is like Dtzy’s, the way she loves all people, kids, lays down for them, loves walks, car rides, a snuggler, it is all Dtzy. And except for the blue eye, she looks just like Dtzy laying on the couch.

Regular checkup, all good. 53lbs. Dr. D says she looks bigger. Coat looks thicker.

Dtzy was busy

Today, she tore up some of the couch, while I was sleeping on it, how I did not hear it I do not know, then she was outside, I again, did not hear her, she must have wanted in so she tore some of my insulation up around the back door. She is a handful! You really cannot let her out of thought and mind for too long or something will happen.

She’s driving me nuts this evening

Dtzy is driving me nuts this evening, guess I better get her on a walk soon. She just keeps barking at me, I think she is just anxious for a walk.

Now Missy is whining, I guess it is time to get out there and walk them.

A Favorite, here they are, sitting together, not messing with each other, getting along fine, a very very rare thing.

Missy not feeling good

Did not eat this morning, forced her to eat pill, staying quiet, behind couch. Did greet me when got back from Mass, went outside, ate grass, then came back in, did not beg food as is her custom. See Moleskine Calendar for sequence and when this began.

Missy finally ate her food at the PM meal, and her pill too, so I guess she is okay.

Where is she?

Every time Dtzy goes outside now, she first looks around the back yard, I think she is looking for the cat. I have not seen the cat since Sunday.
